Newspapers are daily or weekly printed
publications containing news and features.
There is generally seen to be two types of
newspaper - the small and popular tabloid
newspapers which sell in large quantities
and contain popular news items and gossip
and the larger and less popular broadsheets
which sell in lesser quantites and contain
more serious news features. The most popular
newspaper in Britain is The Sun selling 4
million copies. As a further distinction
there are also regional and local newspapers
catering for smaller communities and dealing
with news and features of interest to their
selected populations. The most popular
regional newspaper is the London Evening
Standard followed by the Manchester Evening
News.
